Your website says that EmbroideryWare will import, SVG, PES, PNG, BMP, and JPEG bitmaps to use for digitizing
Where exactly do we find PNG, BMP, and JPEG? I can find
SVG and PES but not the rest?

It will import the images and then you use them as a guide to digitize. Use the image icon on the menu bar it looks like some mountains.
After you have selected that you will be presented with a file dialog from which you can select the file. After the file is selected you click it where you want it to go.
