How do I create a satin text effect

Hi, I’ve been trying to create the same effect as on the attached picture.
I have tried to use the text tool and my font in EW and when i use fill it fills the shape in the same direction. Satin also looks different.

I’ve tried to import the text as svg but couldn’t get the desired effect either.

In case the picture is not clear, what Im trying to do is to get a fill on those letter to follow the shape of the letter and the stitching to be always perpendicular to the letter (if there was a single line the stitches would always go over the line rotated by 90 deg.

is there a simple way to achieve this efect in EW?

thank you
Lubosh

You can do this with column stitches.  Type in your text with the text tool.  Keep as asdrawnquad.  You will be using the text produced as a visual guide only.  Then use column stitches to draw on top of that.  You will need running stitches to connect everything together as well as for the center underlay.

The following video explains how to use column stitches
